The 4th Annual Conference of the Association of Hotels and Restaurants of the Czech Republic took place in the Clarion Congress Hotel Ostrava. The general meeting of AHR CR opened the programme, followed by a busy working schedule. Top figures of Czech hotel and gastronomy management presented their views of the current situation in hotel and restaurant operations. The international importance of the Conference was underlined by the participation of Mr. Kent Nyström, President of the European Association HOTREC – an organisation of 39 national associations from 24 states of the European Union. The Conference was also attended by the minister for regional development, Rostislav Vondruška, thanks to the exclusive 20-minute video conference arranged by CONTECH. The Company provided complete technical services for the programme in three parallel sections, including simultaneous interpreting, live picture feeds in the main congress hall and audio visual recordings of the presentations. The Conference was conveniently accompanied by a social programme, during which the participants could dance in the premises of the CEZ Arena in Ostrava enjoying disco music, a light show and video projection technically and artistically arranged by our staff. On the second day the participants had a chance to go down the Nejdek mine, and later to taste Czech cuisine specials at the Museum of Mining in Ostrava, accompanied by a live performance of traditional Moravian-Silesian music. The peak of the programme was a gala evening on Friday with the AHR CR Annual Awards and a concert performed by Vera Spinarova. The gala evening was supported by two live video projections and complete sound systems provided by CONTECH Company.
